Our soaps are cold process soaps! We combine our oils and fragrance with a water and lye solution and saponifi cation happens to create a bar of soap. The lye is used up in this reaction and is no longer active. No chemical lye remains! Cold process soaps are more nourishing to the skin than other soaps. They will not strip the skin of its natural oils while cleaning and essential oils maintain their maximum benefi ts. Cold process soap making is one of the oldest ways of making soaps in the Appalachian Mountains!
